Elektrická lokomotiva modelové železnice v měřítku HO pro železniční modeláře ve špičkové kvalitě - Trix 22609 Konigliche Bayerische Staats-Eisenbahnen K.Bay.Sts.E #20103 (20104, 20102) HO EP Class 3-6 Electric Locomotive DCC & Sound, Era I (1835-1925).

The EP 3/6 locomotive might just be the most attractive little electric locomotives ever made. Words cannot describe its beauty. It is highly detailed, colorful, and the number of separately applied parts is truly amazing. The Bavarian EP 3/6 would be a great model for a small Era I branch line layout.

Light change now with warm white and red light emitting diodes (LED). Comes standard with built-in smoke generator. Engineer s figure is included. With digital decoder and extensive operating and sound functions.

Between the years 1912-1914 the route from Salzburg to Freilassing and Berchtesgaden was electrified. The Bavarian State Railway (K.Bay.Sts.B.) wanted to test electric traction so twelve test locomotives were were produced and delivered on October 20th, 1912. Among them were the four locomotives of the class EP 3, the mechanical part of the vehicle was manufactured by the Munich company Krauss and the electric part was delivered from the SSW. The locomotives were each supplied with a Krauss-Helmholtz and a Krauss-Lotter-frame for the articulation of the driving axles. The combination of the frame, wheel base and gear sets allowed anti-roll-free running. This was a prerequisite for the winding route. The asymmetric arrangement of pantographs was due to the installation of a steam boiler for train heating. The boilers were removed shortly after commissioning and replaced with electric heaters.

The locomotives were in operation on the opening of the route in April 1914, the EP 3/6 20101 was put into service on 27th of May the same year. The three other engines were placed into service between April 14, 1915 and October 29, 1915.

One of the highlights of the EP 3/6 was to pull the royal court train on September 15, 1916, the EP 3/6 20,101 was the locomotive that had this privilege.

In 1926 the DRG re-classified all four locomotives and they were re-numbered as E 36 01 to E 36 04. The E 36 locomotives were almost exclusively used on passenger trains. On May 1st 1927 the E 36 locomotives were removed from the route because stronger locomotives were needed to meet the demand of increased load requirements. The locomotives were reassigned on the route from Garmisch to Reutte. Together with the E 62 the four locomotives were used on the route until they were finally retired.

The EP 36 locomotives were truly unique and the Bavarian State Railways were ahead of there time in the development of electric traction.
