The BMW F06/F12/F13 is the third generation of the BMW 6 Series range of grand tourers, and was launched in late 2011 as the successor to the BMW E63/E64 6 Series. The body styles of the range are: 4-door coupé (F06 model code, marketed as "Gran Coupé") 2-door convertible (F12 model code) 2-door coupé (F13 model code) The F06/F12/F13 uses a shortened version of the F10 5 Series platform and shares many features with the 5 Series. As of February 2017, 6 Series coupé models ended production, although the convertible and Gran Coupé variants are still available.[2][3][4] The F06/F12/F13 M6 is powered by the S63 twin-turbo V8 engine with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.[5][6] It is the first M6 to use a turbocharged engine.
